Life at The Loehr's: A little peak into the wonderful life we share!

We have been enjoying all this nice weather that Spring has brought us! Lots of fun outdoor activities! The end of March we took Maddy for her Birthday to Morgan's Wonderland! It is a complete handicap accessible park! Every ride is wheel chair friendly or will accommodate seating for a child with development issues! She absolutely loved it as did our entire family that joined in the fun! We stayed in a hotel that night and took the kiddos swimming and then explored the river walk the next day! It was a fun filled weekend and Maddy said she wants to go back next year!! ;) We spent Easter weekend ringing in Bobby's "17 year" class reunion. They did a '90-'95 class reunion and we felt like we were back in high school prom renting a 36 person stretch limo bus! Nothing like pulling in style!!! It's o.k. to be a kid sometimes!!! We woke up Easter Sunday and the Easter Bunny had made his stop by The Martin's and left Easter baskets and a Yard full of Easter Eggs for the kids! TOO MUCH CANDY!!! Bobby celebrated his 35th Birthday this month and tried to be 21 all over again with a "boys only" outing to Houston! We also celebrated Grandpa Raymond's Birthday a few weekends ago and went out to eat for a awesome lunch and took a tour of the George Bush Library in College Station! What a neat tour!!! The kids and adults enjoyed all the fun history! I think there might have even been a video on the campaign trail with the upcoming "Molly Loehr for State Representative", the new and upcoming alternative party! Ha ha!! We spent this past weekend crafting and taking the kids to the zoo and to ride the train at Hermann Park. Maddy and Jack LOVED the zoo and the highlight for Maddy was the 4D Dora and Diego animal adventure experience. They both wore the 4D glasses and it felt like you were right in the movie! From when they would peel a banana the scent would enter the theatre to flying the airplane each and every bump and turn! It was AMAZING!!! Maddy was in AMAZEMENT!!!! Hope everyone has enjoyed the wonderful spring also!!
Well spring is in full bloom and the weather has been wonderful!! We have remained so busy since the start of 2012, I have not even thought about a minute to sit by the computer to blog! BUT, I have some awesome footage of Maddy working so amazingly well with her communication device I just had to share! Please excuse me and my wondering in front of the camera, in my "not so attractive attire"! We get comfy around here in the evenings!!! ;) We have been so proud of Maddy working so hard on her device, she has some good days and some days where she just doesn't want to work. But I guess we all have those days so you can't blame her a bit! Lately, she has been doing such a great job so I am just going to go ahead and share this video and STOP talking!!! (that doesn't happen much!!!)
We have lots of exciting weekends coming up! Bobby and my dad are cooking in a cook-off team fundraiser for hospice this weekend. They have been busy getting all the meat and recipes all together to of course they are thinking "kick some BBQ butt"! I will let ya know how it turns out!
Next week Maddy turns 5 years old! I cannot believe how quickly 5 years has gone by! She is just as sweet as the day she was born. She has such a sweet demeanor and she just warms our hearts every time we hear that belly giggle and see that bright smile on her face! We are taking her to San Antonio for her birthday next weekend. They have a park called Morgan's Wonderland that is specially equipped for special needs. All the rides accommodate a wheel chair or have a 5 point harness strap to hold someone that cannot sit up. They have swings for wheelchairs also! Very Cool place!!!!
Hope this wonderful weather finds everyone happy and healthy! I will share some random pictures from our everyday crazy life!

Thought I would start the blog with some of Jackster's silliness!!! I think I have a picky eater on my hands! He loves to eat but everything he tries he is SO dramatic about! I thought this was just too cute when I gave him applesauce how much he reacts to each bite!!!
It seems as soon as the school year starts and fall is in the air that our schedules continue to stay hectic. I would say busier but we are busy ALL the time these days! It is a good busy but when you have one weekend to just stay home and relax it is quite enjoyable!
Maddy has BIG news to share with everyone!!!! Her communication device came in the mail this week! We opened the box and got as far as turning it on and then had NO idea what to do with it! Thank goodness for Miss Andrea her OT! She is going to set up training and get us going on her device so we can start teaching Maddy how to communicate! It will be a whole new adventure for all of us! Hopefully she is bossing us up and down this little house as soon as she gets the hang of it! HA!
Jack just seems to grow each day! This is such a fun time because he is doing something new everyday! He loves to blow raspberries and babble with the world! He is such a happy little guy and I must say quite the charmer! He can sure bat those baby blues and melt his mommy's heart!
Here are a few pictures that I have from our little weekend adventures!
Out at the bay getting ready for a boat ride!
Daddy teaching Jack how to get into the tackle box!

Am I getting on that thing?
Off I go to school!
Hey guys I am 6 months old today!!!
What a big day for the Loehr's!!!! Maddy's first day of Pre-K age 4 and first time to ride the bus to school and home! She was very curious to what was going on this morning. She is use to hopping in daddy's truck and jamming to music with daddy on her way to school, but this morning was a little different. Maddy will be riding the school bus this year. She will be transported in her wheelchair which will be nice so we have it at home with us on the weekends. Bobby rode the bus with her this morning and said she loved it! She laughed at the bumps and loved when it came to a screeching stop! Yay for Maddy being such a big girl today!!! We are so very proud of you sweetie!!!!
Mr. Jackers turned 6 months old today!!!! WOW, how the time flies....half a year gone! He is just such a little joy everyday and has the biggest, bestest ;0) smile EVER!!!!!!!!!!! He makes us laugh everyday and is such a little ham already!!!
So we pulled out some pics of Bobby when he was a baby because when I was home in MN there were mixed comments of who Jack looks like?!? When we looked at some of Bobby's baby pics there is quite a resemblence. Minus the Kuno nose and the blue eyes, I think Jack is with out a doubt his daddy's mini me!!!! I guess now I need to pull some baby pics out of me to compare!!!
