Wow how time flies by!!!! Jack is 5 weeks old today! Cannot believe how fast this time off is going! I am going to miss him so much during the day when I go back to work, but I know NaNa will be thoroughly enjoying herself at home with her little Grandson. Maddy will join them for the summer when school is out and then Nana and Grandpa will be busy bee's! Jack is doing great! He is quite the little drama boy! He has a noise for EVERYTHING!!! He squeals, grunts, coos, sighs, tries to get a babble out and can also go into a full out "poor me" cry! He makes us laugh with all of his sounds! And I thought having a girl was drama, I think Jack is trumping that idea! He is still eating like a little piggy and gaining weight each day! He likes to wake mommy up at night usually at 1:30 and 5 a.m. I guess he is getting me ready to go back to work with a 5 a.m. alarm! Whew, I think I am going to need some toothpicks to keep my eyes open for the first couple months back to work! We celebrated Maddy's 4th Birthday over the weekend! Cannot believe 4 years ago my precious little girl was brought into this world. What a four years it has been. I have learned more in the past four years than I have my entire life! She is our inspiration and she keeps us very grounded! We took her to ride the train in Hermann park on Saturday. She loves to ride the train and look around at all the kids playing in the park and the trees and flowers! It was a beautiful day!

Okay, so Jack was 2 weeks old yesterday, mama is just getting to posting it a day late!

We had Jack's 2 week appt. yesterday and he is doing great!!! He is now weighing in at 7 lbs 1 oz. which is a couple of ounces over his birth weight and many ounces over his weight when he left the hospital as he lost about 6 ounces from birth. His umbilical cord has already fallen off which makes bath time much easier! He is eating great!!! I feel like all I do all day long is feed this boy! The pediatrician said all of his movements look normal and his muscle tone looks great! Great to hear as we are always wondering in the back of our head if everything is going to be o.k.! Bobby and Maddy have been sick so they have been quarantined to one side of the house as Jack and Mommy are on the other side. Trying to keep all the cold germs to a minimum is difficult but Maddy will be on spring break next week so she will have a break from all the germs that spread at school! We are looking forward to spending spring break watching lots and lots of NCAA Basketball and cheering on our brackets and hopefully bringing home some dinero!!! :) Always wishful thinking!!!! Makes it fun to watch the games when you have something on the line!!! Wishing everyone a wonderful spring break and enjoy the warm sunny weather!!! At least, those of us south of the Mason Dixon Line!!!

Getting ready to walk back to surgery!!! 2-22-11

We brought our new bundle of joy home on 2-24-11. He is perfect in every way!!!! He is such a great baby and we have enjoyed getting in our new routine! Routine: Less sleep but LOTS OF LOVE!!!!! We had a little scare with his bilirubin count at his Pedi appt Monday. He left the hospital with a 9.3 bili and on Monday it was up to 16.3. His pedi wanted us to get in front of a sunny window right away and give him pedialyte. So with the Doc's orders that is what we did. We went back the next morning for another blood serum check and his levels had dropped to 14.8. He was satisfied with the reduction and said he would not admit us back into the hospital. He wants us continue the "sun tanning" and lots of fluids, which he has picked up nursing quite well if we can keep him awake! So we continue to hope the levels will reduce and he will be checked again on Tuesday of next week at his 2 week appt. He would sleep for longer than 3 hour spans at night but I have to wake him to eat to help keep fluids in him! So much for getting him on a great sleeping schedule! He is quite willing to sleep ALL the time! Maddy has adjusted quite well and has realized there is a new little "being" in the house! She looks over at him when he cries and acts like he fits right in our home! We feel very blessed to have added such a little miracle into our lives and will continue sharing our joys! Lots of Love!!!!

I tackled sewing the crib skirt, bed sheet and bumper pad. A dear friend of the family made the beautiful quilt and a small decorative pillow for the crib. So glad I chose to do it myself!

Well the time has finally come. We are one day shy of Baby Jack's delivery. Tomorrow at this we will have our new little bundle of joy. Our C-section time is at 7:30 a.m. and we have to be there by 5:30 a.m. so mommy and daddy will be up bright and early! Might as well get the day started!!! We will keep everyone posted on the delivery! Praying for a smooth arrival and a quick c-section recovery! Love to all!!!!!!!

So Silly!!!!

Just wanted to take a minute to share a video clip taken from our camera in the car in Houston. Maddy has taken a liking to the bumpy roads in Houston when daddy is driving! She starts giggling every time now we hit a bump. Enjoy!!!!

On another note, I cannot believe that I will be 34 weeks this week and Jack's arrival is right around the corner. 2010 flew by and was a very busy year for us. With the new addition to the house and staying so busy with all of the odds and ends with that Thanksgiving and Christmas just snuck up on us! We enjoyed a trip home to MN for Christmas to see many dear family and friends. So it is not a secret, I enjoyed seeing the family and friends MUCH MUCH more than I did the cold weather!!!!!! I must say you can't take the Midwest roots out of a girl but you definitely can get them accustomed to a warmer climate!!!!! I honestly do not think I could survive another MN winter from beginning to end. I know to all my peeps in MN you think I am just a BIG BIG BABY, call it what you will, but you are welcome at The Loehr's anytime from Mid-November to the end of March and you will completely understand what I mean!!!!!!!!! Maddy did fantastic on the drive back home and I have a much better outlook on taking long trips in the car. I was very nervous about the whole traveling thing for 20 hours in a vehicle but we did it old school and made beds in the back and it was like a Mommy and Maddy camp out while Daddy drove and sang songs to us through the wee hours of night!!!

January quickly started after the New Year and I have been diligently working on the nursery. I decided sometime back in the summer that I would sew Jack's bedding for his crib. Well let me tell you that was a great idea at the time. When I had that idea I must have been in a fog of when I would have ANY time to get to this project! Well, I made myself keep my deal and started sewing last week. I have now completed the dust ruffle, crib sheet and bumper pad. I need to do some finishing on the bumper pad and maybe some little projects here and there to add some of the fabric into room in other places. It turned out pretty darn cute minus the many mishaps along the way. I do not pride myself on being a sewing guru. I have great ideas but to follow through and put them into place is a whole entire different story. All-in-all I managed to produce something and am proud I took on the task! The great thing about having a second is that you have so many things from your first that you get to pull out and use again. Each little item I pull out has so many memories from Maddy attached to it. I can't believe she was that little at one time and what different things we were going through with her at those specific moments. We used our baby stuff much longer with Maddy than most children do, so it seems like each piece has more than just a fragment of months. It is more like a journey in that time span that took us through a segment of medical treatment, a certain blanket we would ALWAYS bring to her appointments or how much we used an item to make things a little easier. It is so amazing to pull all that stuff back out and know we will have another little angel making his own moments and memories as Maddy has.

We have an appointment tomorrow with Dr. Gubbels and one last ultrasound will be done and we will set an actual date for the c-section. I am so ready to know when he is going to arrive and have a set date in place! I will share as soon as we know the date!!!! I will also get some nursery pics posted when I get a little further a long.......I know I am WAY behind......time is ticking!!!!

It's a BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!

IT'S A BOY!!!! We have been patiently waiting to find out what this precious little baby is going to be!!! After talking with our OB we had decided it would be for the best if we were also followed by a perinatologist through this pregnancy so we could follow the progression and make sure everything was forming correctly. There were unknown obstacles through my pregnancy with Madolyn and we just want to be very cautious this time. We had our 4D ultrasound at Houston Perinatology Center on Friday, Oct. 1st. Dr. Kirshon said everything was forming correctly and was progressing well for the age of the baby. Such a great feeling when there is a constant anxiety that something could be wrong. The 4D image was amazing!!! The picture does not even do the the screened image justice. When you are able to see the movements of this little guy in 4D it makes you feel like you are right there with him!!!! We now know we can rule out any girl names and focus on the boy names. I wish I could really say that in plural but this little guy already has a first name just not set on a middle yet! When Madolyn was born Bobby still did not believe she was going to be a girl until Dr. Gubbels confirmed it in person! She is all girl and then some!!!! We had Jack picked out for a boy name for her and Bobby has not budged a inch from that name for a boy since we found out we were pregnant with Maddy. So "Jack" it is!!! As many of you know that is Bobby's middle name and he was named after his Grandfather that passed away at a very young age. So it is meaningful to be able to carry a family name through history!!!! Stay tuned for a middle name! Apparently I get that job, but it seems to be each middle name I throw out there I get a funny face in return falling very short of a "sold" sign!

Maddy had an eye appointment yesterday that went very well! She still has her crossing while focusing but it is so random due to her movement disorder that Dr. Mazow said he would not operate on even if someone held a gun to his head. Yes, quite dramatic words but we love this Dr. and he is so sweet to Maddy! He also said her farsightedness is gone and she has a slight astigmatism but even if she was 40 years old that he would not put lenses on her! This is such a relief because it would be a fight for her to keep glasses on. She does well with sunglasses but the time she spends on the floor "rooting" and rubbing her face on her blankets and on us she would have problems with glasses. So all-in-all a great day for the Loehr's!

We are so excited to have our addition/modification in progress. It is so much fun to watch the changes and be able to have a vision of the finished product! Living in clutter has become a little bit of a challenge but we are adjusting for the mean time and patiently waiting for the finished product!!!

So much to talk about!!!!

First on the list....Maddy is going to be a big Sis!!! I am 10 weeks along and Baby L is doing great!!! Had an ultrasound today and everything looks great!!! Many things to get prepared before the end of February comes!!! Bobby and I are so excited and are just hoping that everything goes well this time around. We are mentally preparing ourselves for the challenges to come. We know this will be added duties for everyone and hoping that Maddy will adjust to having to share her time as she is our everything! In the beginning it will be like having 2 babies as we will still have diapers, bottles and feedings for two. We are confident everything will fall into place and a routine will quickly be in place! As you all know how Bobby and Molly are with routine!
